Nani: Moyes made me stay

Manchester United winger Nani has revealed new boss David Moyes convinced him to stay at Old Trafford.

Nani was tipped to leave United this summer and it was even suggested he might run down his contract and leave on a free transfer next year.

However, the Portugal international ended speculation over his future by signing a new five-year deal last week.

Nani admits he turned down offers from other clubs to sign a new deal and that Moyes played a big role in his decision to pledge his long-term future to United.

"I am very content with my new deal at Manchester United," Nani told the Daily Mirror. "This summer was not easy but after a lot of thought and talking to David Moyes I believe it was the best solution.

"I feel I can offer many things to United. I had other important offers but without a sufficient challenge to make me want to leave United.

"The coach would not guarantee me a place in the XI more than any other player. I know I must work hard to get into this team.

"That is my objective for this season."

Nani commits future to Manchester United with five-year deal

Manchester United winger Nani has signed a new five-year contract with the Old Trafford outfit.
There had been speculation the Portugal international would leave United this summer.
Instead, he has signed a deal that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2018.

"I'm really pleased Nani has re-signed for the next five years," said United boss David Moyes.
"He has great ability and experience and beyond his 26 years."

Following the capture of Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace, it did seem United had a wide player too many given the presence of Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia in the Red Devils squad.

With a year remaining on his contract, and the transfer deadline just passed, there did appear an obvious need to secure Nani's services for an additional amount of time in order to prevent him leaving for nothing in 12 months.

Yet the length of contract does indicate Moyes has faith in a player who has struggled to consistently hit the heights during his six years at the club.

"I've been impressed with his approach to training and look forward to working with him in the coming seasons," added Moyes.

Nani does boast an impressive medal collection since his £17million move from Sporting Lisbon.
He was part of the Champions League-winning squad in his debut campaign, scoring a crucial penalty in the shoot-out triumph over Chelsea.

Last season he won the Premier League for the fourth time and whilst there was talk he was unhappy at the terms he was offered to remain at United last season, it seems now he is much happier.
"Playing at United has been a fantastic experience for me," he said. "When I came to the club, I never imagined the success we have enjoyed.

"Training every day with top players who want to win trophies every year is a great motivation to me.

"I'm very happy that the new manager has shown this faith in me and I'm looking forward to helping the team compete for more honours this season."

Luis Nani As a Valuable Player of Manchester United

Manchester United or Manutd is the English football club that plays at the Old Trafford which is situated in Greater Manchester. Currently, they play in top division of football because they are present in the Premier League.
Formed in 1878, the club was originally known as Newton Heath. They became a part of the Football League in 1892. They have been playing in the top most division of English football since 1938. As far as the average attendance at club is concerned, it is probably higher than other English football teams. In the history of English football, it is said to be the most successful football club and has achieved more than 20 major honors ever since Sir Alex Ferguson became the manager of the club.

Since 1990's time, Manutd has also become one amongst the richest clubs in entire world with maximum revenue that is earned by the football club. On certain occasions, the crest of Manchester United has changed, but more or less it remains the same. There has been the badge that is designed around crest of Manchester city. Because the Manutd club is also known as The Red Devils, therefore there are the red devils on badge of the club. The magnificent stadium of Manutd "'The Theatre of Dreams" was brought in 1909 at a price of 60,000 and the construction cost stood at 90,000 pounds. The stadium capacity is 76,212 fans, all seated.

You will be surprised to know that the red Devils or Manutd is the first ever English team to compete in the European Club. Manutd participated in 1957 European Cup despite being in objection of participation. Before the team was defeated by Real Madrid on its way to semi-finals, the Manutd beat Anderlecht FC from Belgium with 10-0 score, which is till date the biggest win. Luis Nani is another popular player of the club. He is a Portuguese footballer and at present plays as winger for the English club. Predominantly, he is right-footed, but has been used on the left-wing as well on various occasions.

Manutd brought Luis Nani for €25.5 million, out of which 5% was paid to Real de Massamá. He signed the 5-year contract on 6 July 2007 and joined his Portugal team mate Cristiano Ronaldo. On his debut pre-season against Shenzhen, he scored well, netting third in 6-0 victory. In the game that was about to follow, he again scored and led the team to 3-0 win. Nani made the competitive debut for the United on 5 August 2007 against Chelsea. His debut was marked with trophy after the team won with 3-0 but on penalties. This was also followed up by the third goal for the club by Nani after three days.

Nani is indeed a gem to the Manutd club. After he was brought, he performed quite well in the team and became a responsible player of Manutd football club. Further games from Nani are looked forward to!
